Burger King Counters Its All-Cheese Burger With Beefy Option Costing Almost $300

Do you love cheese? To rephrase that, do you love cheese enough to have a full stack of it in a sandwich? Burger King in Thailand has had fanatics questioning their loyalties after recently launching a ‘Real Cheeseburger’, which was a literal cheeseburger filled with 20 slices of the processed yellow stuff.

The absurd menu item quickly became an internet sensation and was picked up by news outlets abroad.

Now, it’s met its match. And if you’re lactose intolerant, listen up. The company has introduced the ‘Real Meat Burger’, which features two burger buns bulked up with nothing but flame-grilled beef patties. This addition, and not the Whopper, could be the hulk to take down the Big Mac.

Fast-food enthusiasts are expected to take things (fairly) easy. The basic Real Meat Burger comes with just three patties, but those who subscribe to a rich carnivorous diet can beef up their burgers with extra.

The default option will set customers back 339 Thai baht (US$9.82), and to add more patties, patrons will need to top up 100 baht (US$2.90) apiece.

To illustrate just how customizable its menu can be, Burger King Thailand shared images of the item with a varied number of patties, including one of a burger with 100 of them. And meat lovers have one thing to say: bring it on.

As reported by TODAY, local food blogger Believe Me, I Already Ate took up the challenge and ordered a 100-patty Real Meat Burger, which he paid 10,039 baht (US$291) for.

The order was so mammoth that it had to be held in place by an additional pair of hands while the blogger posed for pictures.

If you haven’t guessed it already, Burger King is using this campaign to highlight its ‘Have It Your Way’ philosophy.

The brand has continued to run with the theme and dreamed up more possibilities, like a ‘Real Pickle Burger’, ‘Real Tomato Burger’, ‘ Real Onion Burger’, ‘Real Lettuce Burger’, and ‘Real Bun Burger’.

The trypophobic in this writer shudders to think that someone out there might order a burger filled with only a clump of sesame seeds (just because you can have it your way, doesn’t mean you should).

As a sigh of relief, the chain disclaims that some of its less appetizing concepts are “not for real.”
