Meta is making strides in its virtual-reality (VR) endeavors by introducing quests and rewards on its Horizon Worlds platform. The live-interactive experience is now available to all users equipped with a Quest VR headset, allowing them to immerse themselves in various gaming experiences and earn rewards.
Initially tested with popular games like Giant Paddle Mini Golf, Arena Clash, and Bad Roommates, the quests present challenges for users to undertake while exploring the metaverse. This new addition comes with rewards, including new clothing options for avatars.
To access the quests, users can find them in the Worlds Menu, and the company promises to add more quests and rewards over time, enhancing the overall Horizon Worlds experience.
It seems like all of this is to revitalize engagement in the metaverse and get people to utilize their avatars again.
As Meta continues to venture beyond social media and expand its presence in the VR landscape, it faces significant financial challenges. For instance, CNBC reported the company experienced a massive $13.7 billion loss on Reality Labs in 2022, highlighting the risks and opportunities associated with such ambitious projects.
