Vespa-Shaped E-Bicycle Lets You Scoot Around Town In Classic Style
E-bicycles offer many advantages, making them an appealing transportation option for urban dwellers. With pedal-assisted power, commuting becomes a walk (or a ride) in the park, reducing travel fatigue. E-bikes are also eco-friendly and cost-effective, requiring lower maintenance and operational expenses compared to traditional vehicles.
The Civilized Cycles ‘Model 1’ is an electric bike with versatility, comfort, and style. At first glance, it may resemble a Vespa, which is likely because its inventor, Zachary Schieffelin, also founded and served as CEO of Vespa Soho, the largest Vespa dealership in the United States.
According to Wallpaper, the panniers of Model 1 were designed by a team that works with NASA and Nike. These ‘saddlebags’ are constructed with carbon-fiber panels that can keep you clean and dry as you ride and offer twin storage compartments with expandable interiors. They have a luggage capacity that ranges from 20 to 80 liters.
The bike can seat two adults or an adult and two children comfortably. It features automatic full suspension, integrated panniers, and USB charge ports. With an optional second battery, it offers a range of up to 60 miles.
The Model 1’s Launch Control™ throttle, deep step-through frame, and high torque mid-drive motor ensure easy riding. It provides footrests, suspension, and a fully enclosed rear wheel for added comfort and safety for riders and passengers. The bike can carry a total weight of 400 lbs and is suitable for riders approximately 5’6” to 6’4” in height.
While offering a relaxing and upright riding experience, the Model 1 can reach a top speed of 28 mph. It is classified as a Class 3 e-bike with a separate throttle, not relying solely on pedal assist.
For safety purposes, it comes with an integrated display, taillights, auto-dimming headlights, and a brake light. These features help to increase visibility during rides.
