Retro Mechanical Keyboard Pays Tribute To Nintendo Consoles Of The 80s

Remember the good ol’ days of smashing buttons on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES)? Well, those nostalgic for the 80s gaming console can now experience it in the form of a mechanical keyboard.

Created by gaming accessory maker 8BitDo, the new launch pays homage to the aesthetics of the NES and Famicom of decades prior.

The N Edition will feature the instantly-recognizable gray and red hues of the former, while the Fami Edition will don the black, burgundy, and white of the Japanese version of the console.

Both keyboards will retail for US$99.99 from September, each with 87 swappable keys and Bluetooth, 2.4 Ghz, and USB connectivity for both Windows and Android.

The highlight, of course, is the pair of giant ‘Dual Super Buttons’ inspired by the A and B buttons once seen on an NES controller.

These programmable buttons can be connected via a 3.5 mm cable and do not require additional software to work. For those that can’t get enough of the huge red buttons, users have the option of purchasing additional ones for US$19.99 each.
