Italian soccer club Inter Milan has embarked on a cross-cultural collaboration with the popular Japanese manga series Blue Lock, bridging art, football, and entertainment.
As the Nerazzurri continue their pre-season preparations in the land of the rising sun, it has integrated one of the country’s most popular anime series into its tour.
Blue Lock, written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura, combines the worlds of sports and gaming to create a compelling story centered around Isagi Yoichi, the main character.
The tale follows the journey of Japan’s 300 most promising strikers who undergo revolutionary training at the Blue Lock facility. Their ultimate goal is to produce the world’s best striker who can lead the Japanese national team to victory in the World Cup.
To tap into the amazing art behind the manga, the collaboration has given rise to a special graphic identity.
Jointly created with the animators, Inter Milan’s digital content throughout its trip will be infused with a unique and original touch via one-of-a-kind match cards.
In addition, Nerazzurri fans can look forward to the opportunity of owning a special Inter x Blue Lock T-shirt, set to be launched in a few weeks.
Fans of the soccer team can visit an installation in Tokyo to learn more about the partnership, with various pieces of original content and exclusive events planned in the coming months.
