Crocs Dedicates A Pair Of ‘Sole-Ar’ Clogs To ‘The Jetsons’

Meet George Jetson, his son Elroy, his daughter Judy, Jane, his wife, and his pair of Jetsons-branded Crocs.
 
Crocs and New York-based independent lifestyle brand Extra Butter are celebrating the iconic cartoon series’ 60th anniversary in style. The duo has come up with a pair of alien-green clogs that are inspired by Orbit City.

For those who need a quick refresher, The Jetsons is a space-age cartoon set in the distant future of 2062 that follows the titular family. The four stay in an apartment together, where they go about their everyday lives that sort of mirror the same trials and tribulations we go through but are sprinkled in with a few wacky adventures and hi-tech hijinks.
 
The show’s essence has been captured in Crocs’ Echo Clog, which has a wavy midsole and was made to look like the family’s spaceship with added “rocket blasters” extending out the back of the footwear.

Rounding off the design are Jibbitz featuring the family and their dog Astro. There are also 3D accessories of the Skypad they live in and their actual space cruiser.
 
On Extra Butter’s website, creative director Bernie Gross states that with the resurgence of mid-century modern aesthetics, home decor is turning towards the more vintage and retro-futuristic. That, coupled with the almost alien-like shape of the Echo Clogs, inspired the brand to create something in honor of the iconic animated series.

The Extra Butter x The Jetsons x Crocs Echo Clog is now for sale for US$80 for the adult pair and US$60 for the kids.
