‘Thinking Egg’ Aims To Ground You When You’re Feeling Stressed Or Overwhelmed

The world around us may often feel like it’s moving a thousand miles an hour. Sometimes all you might need is something to ground you in your reality and give you a moment of peace. And sometimes, that thing can come in the shape of the humble egg.

As described by design company Orijin, the egg has historically held profound symbolism in various cultures, representing life, wealth, promise, and regeneration. Building on this archetypal symbol, the Thinking Egg seeks to provide an aesthetic and tactile object to help people touch back down to Earth.

Crafted with precision, the Thinking Egg measures 17mm wide and 23.36mm tall, boasting an ergonomic design that fits comfortably in the hands. It’s basically a weighted item that you can roll between your fingers or on your desk and just escape from all the noise for a moment. It’s also handy in times of high anxiety, and smaller and more discreet than a fidget spinner, that’s for sure. 

Each Thinking Egg possesses a distinctive appearance and texture, rendering it truly one of a kind. As new collections are introduced, the focus revolves around different textural, aesthetic, and symbolic elements.

Various collections include Eggs made out of Jade, Cat’s Eye, Damascus Agate, Lava, and Cork—the last of which can be squeezed like a stress ball.

The Egg can be carried around when you need something to aid in contemplation or even as a focus tool for mediation. It can also sit on your desk as decoration.

It’s currently a project on Kickstarter where an individual Thinking Egg is going for US$15, and a group of them can be bought for US$78.
