Google Search Adds AI-Powered Checker To Automatically Fix Your Grammar

Ever wondered if online search results are skewed due to bad grammar? Well, to address this issue, Google recently announced it has added an artificial intelligence (AI) checker to Search—which will analyze users’ queries and offer corrections if a phrase or sentence doesn’t read right.

Now, simply keying in “grammar check,” “check grammar,” or “grammar checker” will activate the built-in tool, though suggestions may still appear even if one of those phrases isn’t included in a search.

When the algorithm spots an error, such as the use of wrong tenses or incorrect spelling, the feature will automatically rewrite the query for users while pointing out the changes that have been made.

One can copy the corrected version of the search just by hovering their cursor over the corrected selection. If everything’s dandy, users will be greeted with a green checkmark indicating that everything’s impeccable.

At the moment, the function only works for queries in English, though Google clarifies that the grammar checker would not run if the search itself violates the website’s policies. For example, dangerous, violent, or explicit requests will be ignored completely.
