Casio’s Classic Watches Tick The Right Boxes As Fun-Sized Rings

While the hands of time have made way for fitness wearables, there’s just something so perpetually delightful about having a classic watch on your wrist. And Casio is betting that you’ll want seconds of this nostalgic appeal, literally.

The watchmaker has partnered with Japanese toymaker Stasto Stand Stones to create a set of timepiece-inspired rings called the Casio Watch Ring Collection. The accessories are faithful replicas of timeless Casio products, sized down to wrap around your fingers.

The duo has introduced five miniature options. They depict the F-91W-1, a digital watch introduced in 1989; the retro-style DBC-611-1; the AE-1200WH-1A, which is built in with a world map; the analog MQ-2A-7B2; and the golden AQ-230GA-9 digital watch.

To be clear, these teeny-tiny time-tellers are ornamental, so they won’t let you know if you’re running late for an appointment. Their screens and hands, although intricately crafted, are frozen in time. You’ll need an accompanying, wrist-sized watch if you’re looking for around-the-clock functionality.

The Casio-themed rings were rolled out in mid-July, and they’re being sold at shops and in toy vending machines in Japan.
