‘Hamilton’ Comes To The Metaverse, Placing You In 1700s Rap Musical New York

There’s a million things I haven’t done, just you wait. But no one could have predicted one of those things to be a Roblox game.

Broadway phenomenon Hamilton has been transported into the virtual world by renowned esports platform Super League and Small World Games, with the blessing of the musical’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda, the Associated Press reports. Called Hamilton Simulator, this aptly combative experience invites fervent Hamilton fans to unite with their favorite historical characters and liberate themselves from the British Empire—with the power of music rallying behind them, of course.

In the metaverse, players complete interactive tasks and work, work, to gather enough power and coins to unlock resources for battle. Notably, the simulator’s charming sets—which include Washington’s office, the Schuyler Mansion Ballroom, and Yorktown Battlefield—were crafted with consultation by the production’s stage designer David Korins.

Like Alexander Hamilton, visitors first arrive in this scrappy environment via ship. They’ll soon be tasked with assembling their squad, beginning with starter characters like Charles Lee and James Madison, and then building their way up to enlist more familiar names like the Schuyler sisters, Philip Hamilton, and Maria Reynolds.

Iconic tracks like You’ll Be Back and Guns and Ships will be used as sort-of weapons to fight enemies.

At present, the simulator stops somewhere in the middle of the plot, when King George III has lost his grip on the colony. However, Super League intends to expand this universe. When that happens, you’ll be back for sure.

The Hamilton Simulator can now be accessed on the Roblox platform, the arguable second-greatest city of the world.
