Bruce Lee’s Legacy Is Being Honored With His Own Anime Series

The indelible legacy of martial arts legend Bruce Lee is set to find a dynamic new outlet in the form of an anime series titled House of Lee. Spearheaded by Bruce Lee’s daughter, Shannon Lee, in collaboration with Beijing-based anime studio Shockunit Studio, this venture is poised to blend action and fantasy into a riveting new show.

House of Lee transports viewers into an alternate realm where Lee assumes the mantle of assembling a unit of warriors united in their mission to prevent the world from succumbing to darkness. The series draws inspiration from Lee’s own words, echoing his philosophy: “Those who are unaware they are walking in darkness will never seek the light.”

Delving beyond the surface, House of Lee touches on themes encompassing spirituality, the battle against inner turmoil, and facets of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) experience. These elements infuse the narrative with depth and cultural resonance.

The collaboration between Shannon Lee and Shibuya, a prominent content platform that aids artists in funding their films, was spurred after she watched the studio’s short film White Rabbit. According to Deadline, who first broke the news, his daughter believes that the team can tell compelling stories and embody Bruce Lee through anime.

The anime trailer will debut during the special 50th-anniversary screenings of Bruce Lee’s iconic film Enter the Dragon from August 13 through August 16. In the meantime, you can watch the teaser trailer below.
