In an effort to shed light on the plight of individuals incarcerated for non-violent cannabis offenses, Vibes has partnered with the Last Prisoner Project and design agency Mother to introduce an impactful product named ‘Release Papers’.

This innovative initiative is housed in rolling paper sleeves, each featuring the name of one of four prisoners and a QR code. By scanning the code, individuals are directed to join letter-writing campaigns and sign the Cannabis Clemency Now petition.

Mother’s packaging design utilizes striking typography, accentuating the words “Release” and “Papers.” The back of the pack passionately advocates for the release of these prisoners, underscoring the irony of incarcerating individuals for an activity legalized in several states.

Beyond its advocacy, Release Papers also pledges to make a difference. A portion of the proceeds from the product will be contributed to the Last Prisoner Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to freeing those imprisoned due to cannabis-related convictions. According to the organization, tens of thousands of people still remain in prison for such offenses.

Vibes is using its platform to spotlight four individuals whom users can find out more about here, sign petitions to get them released, and partake in letter-writing efforts.

The papers are currently available in smoke shops across the US and online.
