Dyson Tames Tresses With Lite, More Affordable Answer To Supersonic Hair Dryer

For those who have always wanted to try out Dyson’s iconic hair dryer but couldn’t get past the hefty cost, here’s good news. The brand recently launched the Supersonic Origin, a “simplified” version of its best-selling product at a more affordable price point.

Now, for US$400, fans of the high-tech hair dryer will get to experience its V9 digital motor and intelligent heat control settings—that claim to increase smoothness by 75%, increase shine by up to 132%, and decrease frizz by up to 61%—without their wallets hurting as much.

Unlike the original Supersonic, which comes with five attachments, the cheaper version of the product comes with just the Smoothing Nozzle concentrator: a wider, thinner redesign of its predecessor that allows users to style one section of hair at a time.

The tool, available in a chic Black/Nickle colorway, only weighs 1.8 pounds and doesn’t come in a bulky case, making it a great option for customers considering a hair dryer to use both at home and to take on travels.
