Gritty will proudly bare his flaming-hot orange self in an upcoming calendar, in the name of charity.

The Philadelphia Flyers mascot, with his unconventional looks, will be the star of a wall calendar, a project that has supposedly been in the plans for years, a Flyers spokesperson tells Billy Penn.

In behind-the-scenes teaser images, the googly-eyed character is shown embodying a leprechaun, Santa Claus, and even a Thanksgiving turkey.

The NHL team’s representative tells the media outlet that the world of calendars is “oversaturated” with furry animals and smoldering firefighters. The Gritty-starring calendar will pretty much have it all, covering “cute, furry, and sexy” elements. Pel Productions will be in charge of the shoot.

For now, to snag a copy, fans will need to prove they’re up for a little, er, grit. Registrants to the Flyers Charities’ Gritty 5K run in October will be given first access to preorder the calendar.

Proceeds from this edition’s sales will be donated to the team’s charity, which is dedicated to supporting local families affected by cancer and making games more inclusive.
