Leica Commemorates 20 Years Of Leitz Auction With Camera Adorned With Real Wood

Throughout the years, German camera maker Leica’s Leitz Photographica Auction has gathered attention from photography enthusiasts and collectors alike.

This annual event showcases a selection of photographic tools—both cameras and lenses—allowing them to find new homes in the hands of the highest bidders.

Last year marked a special milestone as the auction celebrated its 20th anniversary. To commemorate this occasion, a unique and exclusive offering emerged: the Leica M6 Set “Leitz Auction.”

Adorned in an elegant glossy black paint finish, the camera features a special Leitz logo meticulously crafted from solid gold—a testament to the dedication that goes into its creation.

The limited-edition gadget is adorned with real wood armoring made from rich walnut veneer, while engravings in gold and red gracefully accentuate the creation’s design.

As a truly exclusive offering, the Leica M6 Set “Leitz Auction” is limited to just 20 copies. A Noctilux-M 50 f/1.2 ASPH lens will accompany the camera.
