Slow Fashion Meets Cycling With Eco-Friendly Bicycle & Clothing
Lime is a micro-mobility company offering a fleet of dockless electric bikes and scooters for rent. With the service, getting around town becomes convenient and eco-friendly, making it a popular choice for short trips and last-mile commuting in cities worldwide.
As it is, adults are shying away from cycling, no thanks to the constraints of their clothing, such as not the discomfort of riding around in mini skirts or flow dresses, and the limitations of leggings or jeans. According to Famous Campaigns, a survey confirmed that half of people surveyed yearned for high-fashion cycle-friendly clothing options.
Tackling two problems at once, a new collection with “slow fashion” designer Lydia Bolton is making bike riding comfortable and sustainable.
Bolton’s Re-Cycle collection takes old tents and jackets, giving them a new lease on life as a multifunctional, fashion-forward collection that seamlessly complements Lime bikes.
The range, comprising four unisex pieces, is designed for urban cyclists seeking style and practicality. It includes a reflective hi-vis vest, clothing clips for that secure fit, shorts for a comfy ride, and an adaptable coat with a detachable lower half. Bolton sourced material for the line from charity shops in the UK.
Riding on the slow fashion wave, only two of each piece will be up for grabs via an auction on eBay that will run until August 25. On top of that, 100% of the proceeds will go towards the Friends of the Earth environmental organization.
