There’s Going To Be A ‘Fyre Festival II’, And Tickets Are On Sale
The Fyre Festival, a fiasco of epic proportions, left a lasting mark on the entertainment world. Billy McFarland, the man behind the ill-fated event, is now attempting to resurrect the festival’s ghost with a sequel named Fyre Festival II.
In a somewhat unconventional sales pitch, McFarland, who served four years behind bars for his role in the first festival’s fraudulent activities, donned a white bathrobe in a video presentation. He claimed to have meticulously crafted a 50-page plan during his prison stint and waxed poetic about his ability to unite people.
McFarland also mentioned some of his recent post-incarceration endeavors, including yet another Fyre Festival documentary and a Broadway musical.
While the prospect of hosting the event in the Middle East or South America was considered, the decision ultimately landed on a return to the Caribbean, perhaps aiming to recapture some of the allure of the original concept.
Promises of additional pop-up events worldwide leading up to Fyre Festival II are on the table, but whether McFarland’s latest venture can rise from the ashes of its predecessor remains to be seen.
However, it’s worth noting that this encore lacks some crucial details typically associated with music festivals, such as the fact that no official date, location, or lineup is in sight—which is starting to sound exactly like everything that went wrong for the first one.
Nevertheless, for those who missed the point of the Netflix documentary, presale tickets are available at an initial price point of US$499 and rise to US$7,999.
Thankfully, according to Rolling Stone, plenty of tickets remain for Fyre Festival II.
