KAWS & UNIQLO Are Gearing Up For Another Collection Of Streetwear Staples
Art enthusiasts and fashion aficionados, mark your calendars. KAWS and UNIQLO are back with a new creative collaboration set to drop in 2023. On August 23, they took to their social media pages to tease the new range of t-shirts.
A brief video clip reveals KAWS’s iconic X-eyed Companion figure pushing through a stack of his artwork, and a white T-shirt adorned with KAWS’s 2021 What Party: Tide is presented in the spotlight.
This isn’t the first time KAWS and UNIQLO have embarked on a creative journey together. Their previous tie-in in 2019, featuring beloved Sesame Street characters, was met with much enthusiasm. Prior to that, in 2017, a separate collection featured comic strips from Peanuts.
More recently, though, KAWS has also contributed to UNIQLO’s PEACE FOR ALL lineup, where artist T-shirt sales supported charitable organizations.
As of now, the finer details of this collaboration remain unknown. However, UNIQLO alludes to the range “coming soon” in its Instagram post. And, from the teaser, it seems that the pieces will most likely feature imagery from KAWS’s recent museum exhibit, What Party.
