Microsoft & Tempur Conceive ‘NASA Punk’ Gaming Cockpit Emulating A Spaceship
In a rather unexpected matchup, Microsoft has partnered with mattress brand Tempur on a special-edition “NASA punk” gaming chair to mark the upcoming launch of Bethesda Game Studio’s Starfield.
Dubbed the ‘Dream Chair’, the oversized setup takes on the form of an oversized cockpit on board a spaceship, equipped with a widescreen, joysticks, and a memory foam chair that ensures utmost comfort on the “long journey.”

Of course, this special seat utilizes Tempur’s patented material, long touted as being born from NASA technology, which allows the chair to hold its shape longer than usual as it molds to one’s body.
While other elements of the Dream Chair are said to incorporate official NASA parts for an “immersive” experience, here’s the bad news: The impressive cockpit isn’t fully functional at the moment.
According to TechSpot, all of the controls shown are simply props, with the only working joysticks being those that control chair and monitor adjustments. Plus, it appears Microsoft has no plans to make the futuristic configuration available to the masses.
Fans who want to sink their bottoms into the one-of-a-kind seat will be able to do so at Gamescom in Germany, after which the Dream Chair will be sent to the UK to be auctioned off for charity.
