This Street-Legal Single-Seater Car Turns The Roads Into A Racetrack

Established in 2009 by the Briggs brothers, Neill and Ian, BAC (Briggs Automotive Company) has earned acclaim for its minimalist yet technologically advanced approach to automotive design.

BAC’s latest offering, the 2024 BAC Mono, blends the traits of an F1 machine with the nimbleness of a go-kart, which means that it looks like a street-legal central-mount single-seater racer that you won’t need a Super License to drive.

The vehicle features a Mountune-developed, naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter inline-four engine that has undergone optimization, delivering enhanced power and an exhilarating drive.

Under the hood, you’ll find a six-speed motorsport-derived sequential transmission, complemented by high-tech forged con rods, performance-focused camshafts, uprated valve springs, and an improved induction system. The result? A formidable 311 horsepower and 231 foot-pounds of torque that catapult the Mono from 0 to 60mph in a mere 2.7 seconds, matching its predecessor, the BAC Mono R.

Design-wise, the 2024 BAC Mono also takes inspiration from the range-topping Mono R model, featuring a low-profile offset intake scoop for a more symmetrical and aerodynamic aesthetic with a shark-nose front, aero-optimised rear spoiler, and LED headlights.

Beneath its sleek exterior, the car boasts a state-of-the-art suspension setup with two-way-adjustable racing dampers, ensuring a balanced and precise ride. Maintaining its road-legal status, the Mono rides on Mono-specific Trofeo R tires, a collaborative creation by BAC and Pirelli, designed to offer added grip and handling.
