Banksy Calls For Ideas For Where To Hold His Next Solo Exhibition

A noted subversive of capitalism, Banksy has always placed the people at the heart of his artwork. Now, he’s turning to the public to help him decide where his art exhibition, Cut & Run, should run to next.
The retrospective, which opened on June 15 at Glasgow’s Gallery of Modern Art (GoMA), is the elusive artist’s first solo exhibition in 14 years. Works on show trace 25 years of Banksy’s stenciled footprints, and include the famous Girl with Balloon, Kissing Coppers, Mobile Lovers, and a Union Flag vest worn by Stormzy.

Unsurprisingly, the exhibition has been a rousing success, with GoMA manager Gareth James revealing (via the Independent) that it has drawn a “new and diverse audience” from the far corners of the world. All this, despite a no-smartphone rule enforced at the show—a ban that visitors have respectfully complied with.
Banksy’s team, however, doesn’t know where to bring Cut & Run after the conclusion of the exhibition’s initial 10-week run on August 28.
On the show’s website, Banksy quips that he plans “to take this show on the road but have no idea where to go next.” He urges members of the public to help him pick Cut & Run’s next location.
Fans are encouraged to be as specific as possible about why they feel their desired venue or destination would be a perfect host for the exhibition, and they’re asked to include photos if they can.
“A specific location or venue would be ideal,” Banksy stresses. “Please don’t just write ‘Come to Iran!’”
