Sleek Frames Track Their Wearers’ Eye Movements During Sports Training

Lacing up innovation with every swing, Evolution Optiks Limited and the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) have partnered up to unveil FalconFrames, new wearable sporting euqipment poised to aid in tennis training.

FalconFrames addresses approximately 20 neuro-visual skills, encompassing depth perception, peripheral vision, and more, all thanks to cutting-edge light field technology. This wearable tech boasts built-in gaze-tracking capabilities and a dynamic linear light field array, augmented by retina-tracking guide lights. Ultimately, it aids in sharpening visual focus, heightening responsiveness, and pinpointing precision for athletes.

According to the team, tennis, in particular, demands rapid processing of complex visual cues, ranging from ball trajectory and net distances to opponent positions and shot paths.

“The physical condition of an athlete can be trained to perfection, but that is simply not enough,” Raul Mihali, president and CEO of Evolution Optiks, said. “The connection between eyes, brain and body is the missing link, and we are developing FalconFrames precisely for that,” he added.

Integrated with the athlete’s training regimen, FalconFrames offers guidance without distraction, courtesy of smartphone interfaces. Its dedicated companion app provides preset routines, goal setting, progress tracking, performance comparison, and coach-guided workouts. Plus, it can integrate with other health and wellness apps.
