Switzerland Releases Concrete Stamp Cemented With The Material

Swiss Post’s delightfully minimal stamp will look just as polished on an envelope as it will as a set of little tiles on a wall.
This perfectly scrappy piece doesn’t just bear the aesthetics of the material, but it also recreates its tactility. As detailed by the national post service, the design incorporates cement pigments to provide an authentically ultra-matte finish.
The textured stamp is a nod to the building component’s role in architectural history. “As a stamp design, the symbolic concrete wall represents an artistic pillar that characterizes Swiss Post buildings throughout Switzerland,” the post office adds.

The issue is part of Swiss Post’s Art in Architecture stamp series, which also includes a version crafted from, and reflecting, a piece of blank canvas.
