KFC Feeds Pups World-First ‘Bone Tie’ Treat For A Tail-Waggin’ Good Snack
In commemoration of International Dog Day, KFC Thailand debuted the world’s first Bone Tie snack—a doggie treat meant to highlight the danger of feeding leftover chicken bones to puppies.
While dogs may be partial to getting a lick of the tasty meal, drumsticks and bones put furry friends at risk of suffering internal damage, with the possibility of puncturing their organs.
To keep canines safe without depriving them of a treat, the fast-food chain collaborated with dog snack brand Momo and Friends on an exclusive offering for pets: the KFC Bone Tie.
Produced from the brand’s real food, the once-dangerous bones have been repurposed in the form of the Colonel’s iconic bow tie, allowing pups a safer and healthier way to enjoy them.
Suhayl Limbada, chief marketing officer at KFC Thailand, told LBB Online that the restaurant wanted to use the opportunity to raise awareness of the “harmful effects of giving cooked chicken bones to dogs.”
Going forward, the chain’s outlets in pet-friendly malls across the country will allow diners to recycle their chicken bones to keep producing the Bone Tie as an “evergreen treat” for dogs.
