X marks the spot for most nesting chairs, but Herman Miller is thinking of the Y (shape). The iconic furniture company has unveiled ‘Fuld’, its first-ever nesting chair. Crafted in collaboration with German industrial designer Stefan Diez, it rethinks the classic silhouette with an eco-conscious perspective.

Fuld defies norms by departing from the typical X-shaped nesting chair design. Instead, it embraces a streamlined inverted Y shape with tubular arms and a backrest that boasts a touch of elasticity, ensuring comfort as users shift positions.

All this totals up to a more minimal and sustainable chair, featuring a striking one-piece construction that seamlessly blends the backrest, arms, and back legs. This unique construction, comprising just two materials, ensures easy recycling at the end of the chair’s lifecycle.
