LEGO House In Billund Reemerges In Detailed, 774-Piece Toy Model Form

LEGO has brought its rare replica of the famous LEGO House in Billund, Denmark, back to its online store, enabling enthusiasts to play architect to a miniature version of the toylike architectural wonder.

The 774-piece build, mirroring the 129,000 square foot “Home of the Brick,” is usually an exclusive souvenir sold only at the LEGO House itself. However, the toymaker cracks open its brick-built windows now and then to provide a little more access to the public. With that said, the last time the company unleashed the set into its online store was back in 2020, according to Brick Fanatics.

The mini-me has 21 interlocking, brick-shaped rooms, just like the travel landmark, and is a wonderful example of art imitating life imitating art. Measuring just over two inches high, eight inches wide, and seven inches deep, it additionally captures the transparent façade elements, multicolored bird’s eye view, roof terraces, and giant outdoor stairways of the real LEGO House.

A sandbox of creativity awaits as you lift the build’s brick-shaped keystone roof section to find a teenier version of the interior public square, complete with a staircase and the LEGO Tree of Creativity, a massive brick-made tree at the heart of the building which spans multiple levels.

The real-world LEGO House, designed by renowned Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), consists of 21 white interlocking blocks stacked irregularly on top of each other, creating a playful and dynamic appearance. The building’s vibrant and colorful rooftop terraces resemble the iconic studs found on top of LEGO bricks, serving as a larger-than-life (role) model for play, learning, and creativity.

Inside, Billund’s LEGO House is divided into several zones, each with its own theme and purpose. These include the Red Zone for creativity, the Blue Zone for cognitive skills, the Yellow Zone for emotions, and the Green Zone for social interactions.

The impressive tabletop display, part of LEGO’s popular Architecture series that faithfully depicts beloved structures from around the world, also comes with a decorative LEGO House nameplate as well as an informative booklet about the design, architecture, and history of the LEGO House in English and Danish.

Labeled as “hard to find” on the LEGO website, the mini LEGO House is currently only available for purchase in the UK and Europe. Per The Brick Fan, the elusive build can’t retail in the US due to legal restrictions pertaining to the packaging and paperwork.

The set is priced at £44.99 (US$54) in the UK and €44.99 in Europe, and will likely disappear soon since it’s such a rarity.
