Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Race To Finish Line With Forgotten Relic-Like Playset

Daniel Arsham is taking toy collectors on a nostalgia (road)trip with Mattel Creations on the passenger seat. The pair have announced the Hot Wheels x Daniel Arsham Collection, with miniaturized cars and a set stylistically aged to resemble eroded artifacts.
The Silkstone objects, cast in white and interspersed with shattered corners—a trademark of Arsham’s old-meets-new works—consist of eight 1:64 die-case cars, including Arsham’s “decayed” renditions of the Porsche 930 Turbo and a Rodger Dodger.

To complete the picture, the pieces are parked inside an eroded Hot Wheels Super Rally Case.

Mattel will unleash the series in four drops, or Laps, as it calls them. The first Lap will take place on October 21 and 22, debuting in New York City, while the collection will be sold in a limited batch beginning October 27.
