Burger King fans with beef about getting grubby fingers, you can now have it your way. The Home of the Whopper’s Japanese leg has shared a life hack of sorts to ensure the cleanest eating experience.

Digging into a Whopper isn’t the most glamorous of acts. Thankfully, Burger King Japan has launched a video demonstrating a secret trick, or urawaza, that results in the most “beautiful/neatest/cleanest way to eat a Whopper.”

The process involves first splitting the paper down the middle.

Then, flip your sandwich 180° and tuck in the ears of the wrapper.

Using this method, diners can tuck into their Whopper or large-sized burger without the hassle, Burger King Japan claims.

According to SoraNews24, the Japanese word for clean can also be used to describe something beautiful or neat. All of those contexts seem relevant with this hack.

And besides keeping your fingers grease-free, the trick also allows you to make the most out of the single-use packaging—some food for thought.

Despite the simple steps, the video is pretty well-received in Japan, raking in over 380,000 views and being bookmarked by almost 500 users on X (formerly Twitter).

Fans who have followed the instructions have reported (in Japanese) the experience to be “easy” and mess-free.

One diner says they’d usually request to have their burger sliced in half to avoid the same problem, but knew what to do next time. Or, you could be a fast-food savage and—rather counterintuitively—cut into your Whopper with utensils.

“I wonder if I can use this technique with a burger from a company [whose name starts with] M,” another eater contemplates.
