YouTube Music Debuts AI Art Generator For Customizable Playlist Covers

YouTube has just announced a couple of new features heading onto its Music app centered around bringing more customization and personalization to users’ fingertips.

The first of these features is the introduction of AI-powered custom playlist art, which lets users craft personalized playlist art right from the YouTube Music app. This innovative tool allows creators to sidestep the often time-consuming task of sifting through album cover ideas or personal images. Instead, they can select from a spectrum of categories like nature, humor, or animals. 

To begin, initiate the process by selecting the existing default image of one of your playlists. Once you’ve done that, various themes will unfold before you, offering options like travel, fantasy, landscape nature, animals, and humor.

Each theme leads to a set of prompts to explore. For instance, under the animal category, you can opt for an image of a pug in the stylings of pop art or a more medieval gothic aesthetic if that’s the vibe of your curated music.

Once you’ve made your theme and prompt selections, click the ‘Create’ button. This will trigger a sequence of AI-generated images for you to peruse. After finding the one that resonates with your playlist’s vibe, simply click “save,” and your chosen picture will take its place as your playlist’s unique cover art.

The second addition is the ‘speed dial’ feature, enabling users to access their recent listens, whether it’s specific artists or playlists. This user-friendly tool outpaces its competitor, Spotify, by offering a broader range of options.

Currently, the AI-powered custom playlist art is accessible to English language accounts in the United States, with plans to extend the feature globally in the near future. The ‘speed dial’ function is also on its way for users in the coming months.
