Kenzo and the UK heritage boots brand Hunter have teamed up to create a capsule collection. This collection draws inspiration from creative director NIGO’s admiration for England, exploring the “East Meets West” narrative introduced in KENZO’s Fall/Winter 2023 campaign.
The collection features a range of high and mid-top silhouettes that take cues from the aesthetics of 1960s duck-hunting boots, infusing them with a preppy edge.
One thing that sets this collection apart is the mix of rubber, suede, and leather textures, combined with Kenzo’s signature red color and Boke flowers that are incorporated into Hunter’s traditional army green and black color palette.
For men, there’s a utilitarian lace-up ankle boot with a rugged recycled nylon upper, red sole, black shell foxing, and Boke flowering on the outsoles, priced at US$660.
Both men and women have the choice of another utilitarian ankle boot with a combination of felt, leather, and recycled polyester in the upper, which comes with a cover gaiter in either army green and red or black. This pair is priced at US$540.
The collection also includes Hunter’s classic (and music festival staple) rubber Wellington Original Tall boot, reimagined in black and army green for men and women and KENZO red exclusively for women. These are, made from durable vulcanized nylon and featuring KENZO iconography, are priced at US$295.
The Kenzo x Hunter collection can be found exclusively at KENZO’s website and stores worldwide, and Hunter’s website, offering a blend of style and tradition for design enthusiasts.
In other areas of Kenzo’s “East meets West” campaign, the brand has recently teamed up with Levi’s for a collection inspired by Japanese denim.
