Disney’s Live-Action ‘Snow White’ Reveals First Look At CGI Seven Dwarfs

Disney has unveiled the first image from its highly anticipated live-action reimagining of the classic fairy tale: Snow White.

The teaser image provides fans with a glimpse of Rachel Zegler in the iconic blue-and-yellow dress, embodying the beloved character.

Zegler’s Snow White appears to be the dwarfs’ cozy cottage, surrounded by her diminutive companions: Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.

The dwarfs’ visual representations pay homage to the characters’ appearance in the original 1937 animated film, with CGI enhancements to emphasize their unique features.

Directed by Marc Webb, known for his work on The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the film was originally scheduled for release on March 22, 2024. However, the studio has since pushed back the premiere of the movie to March 21, 2025.

Notably, despite the excitement surrounding the film, it has not been without its share of controversy.

As IGN noted, actor Peter Dinklage expressed his concerns about the casting choices during an interview, questioning how the movie seemed to be progressive in one aspect but continued to perpetuate outdated stereotypes with the portrayal of the seven dwarfs living in a cave together.

In response to Dinklage’s criticism, Disney said that it is taking a different approach with the depiction of the seven dwarf characters—emphasizing its commitment to consulting with members of the dwarfism community to avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film.
