Valentino recently opened the doors to its new flagship store on Madison Avenue, showcasing its fresh retail throughout the impressive three-story building.
Spanning nearly 1,142 sq m (12,292 sq ft), visitors approaching the building won’t miss its imposing presence, with iconic columns and tall windows that provide glimpses into the boutique’s interiors.
Inside, the space is divided into a basement, ground floor, mezzanine, and second floor, each with its own visual narrative and carefully curated material palettes.
Upon entering through the grand double doors adorned with sculptural marble handles, guests can feast their eyes on seven-meter-high (23-feet-high) ceilings, exposed steel columns that span across all floors, and the industrial look of rough concrete finish.
Illuminated shelving showcases the Valentino Garavani Accessories collection, while a striking green onyx display unit takes center stage.
Further in, the staircase acts as the focal point, leading visitors to the upper levels. The flight is made from a blend of marbles, including red Travertino, white Botticino, and black Nero Marquina.
Its red stone perimeter extends to the adjacent Valentino Women Ready-To-Wear section on the second floor, displayed within a striking red lacquered wardrobe structure.
Complemented by matching seating, this area creates a captivating contrast against the chequered floor made of white Botticino and black Nero Marquina marble.
Descending into the basement, dedicated to Valentino Menswear, the interior design changes yet again, this time turning to stark concrete and black parquet flooring.
Last but not least, the mezzanine is used as a dedicated space for showcasing temporary art displays, featuring the works of various galleries and institutions.
Making its debut in collaboration with New York museum Magazzino Italian Art, the mezzanine currently showcases the impressive large-scale paintings by Mario Schifano.
