Tesla’s Cyberquad For Kids Is Back In The US After A Safety Rebrand
In 2021, Tesla debuted the Cyberquad for Kids, a miniature version of its highly-anticipated Cybertruck that could be driven by children without a license.
However, the initial release of 5,000 units of the all-terrain toy did not meet the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s (CPSC) standards and was pulled off the shelves in the United States.
Now, after a relaunch last month in Europe, the US$1,900 kids’ vehicle is back on the market. This updated version of the car is said to meet all the requirements of the CPSC and will be shipped to customers as soon as this month.
“We’re thrilled to announce the official relaunch of the Cyberquad for Kids by Radio Flyer, a product we have been working to enhance for the last two years,” said Robert Pasin, CEO of Radio Flyer.
Branded ‘Model 915’, the latest iteration boasts upgrades, including the replacement of a rear spring, guidelines that the toy be used by ages nine to 12, a tire inflation warning label, and revised rules that state it isn’t suitable for off-road use.
Other features that made the vehicle so highly sought after remain the same, such as the toy’s 500-watt motor—which allows it to travel up to a maximum speed of 10 mph for 15 miles of range.
