Lenovo recently teamed up with fashion designers from RANRA, Kit Wan Studios, and Maium to collaborate on an innovative ready-to-wear line that aims to fuse fashion and function.
Designed toenhance the often neglected but essential “me time,” the Lenovo Tab Wear Collection offers a solution to the fast-paced world. According to Pew Research, while many individuals crave downtime, most have trouble making it a priority in their lives.
As such, this collection aims to make relaxation more accessible by allowing users to engage in their favorite leisure activities with ease, whether at home or on the go.
The garments in the collection are a unique representation of its designer, each of which integrates Lenovo tablets into the design to blend style with technology.
This allows the wearer to immerse themselves in various activities—from watching shows to browsing social media or engaging in creative projects—all while being fashionably dressed.
The first piece, put together by the London and Reykjavík-based team RANRA, features noise and light-canceling capabilities, ideal for immersive experiences in transit. Its isolation hood and packable tablet harness make it perfect for flights, buses, or trains.
Next, hailing from Hong Kong, Kit Wan Studios introduced a modular techno-armor exo-skeleton. This design brilliantly integrates technology into streetwear, adding an edgy, modern twist to the collection.
Last but not least, Amsterdam-based Maium designed a jacket that transforms into an inflatable hammock. It’s a versatile piece for those who love the outdoors, offering both style and practicality.
That’s not all. As sustainability is a key element of the Lenovo Tab Wear Collection, all of the designers incorporated eco-friendly practices into their creations.
For instance, RANRA chose recycled textiles and trims, focusing on the lifecycle of materials, while Kit Wan Studios sourced materials from local traders in Hong Kong, supporting small-batch collaborations.
Maium’s design features recycled polyester with an eco-friendly finish, manufactured in GRS and Oeko Tex-100 certified facilities.
“Tech and fashion are both constantly evolving, innovating, and adapting to our changing society,” said Emily Ketchen, VP and CMO of Intelligent Devices Group and International Markets at Lenovo.
“As technology becomes even more woven into the fabric of our daily lives, we must embrace its benefits to address people’s evolving needs,” she continued.
“The Lenovo Tab Wear Collection is a creative example of seamlessly integrating technology into multipurpose outerwear for ‘me time.’”
