In a soothing nod to tranquility and comfort, PANTONE has unveiled ‘Peach Fuzz’ as its 2024 Color of the Year. This charming shade, reminiscent of a gentle hug, embodies a sense of serenity and nurturing warmth. The announcement is particularly noteworthy as it coincides with the 25th anniversary of the much-anticipated PANTONE Color of the Year program.

The color Peach Fuzz, with its velvety peach tone, radiates an all-embracing spirit that enriches the heart, mind, and body. The hue represents comfort and healing, an invitation to pause, reflect, and heal—whether in the company of others or in a moment of solitary tranquility.

According to the PANTONE Color Institute’s executive director Leatrice Eiseman, Peach Fuzz, officially known as PANTONE 13-1023, was chosen to represent our collective yearning for peace and human connection in a world rife with challenges.

“Peach Fuzz brings belonging, inspires recalibration, and an opportunity for nurturing, conjuring up an air of calm, offering us a space to be, feel, and heal and to flourish from whether spending time with others or taking the time to enjoy a moment by ourselves,” explains Eiseman. “Drawing comfort from Peach Fuzz, we can find peace from within, impactng our wellbeing. An idea as much as a feeling, Peach Fuzz awakens our senses to the comforting presence of tactility and cocooned warmth.”

Peach Fuzz strikes a delicate balance between vintage charm and contemporary elegance. Its subtly sensual nature makes it both poetic and romantic, infusing spaces with an understated, yet impactful, lightness. This peach hue, nestled comfortably between pink and orange, not only reflects a sense of nostalgia but is also said to adapt effortlessly into modern wardrobes and aesthetics, equally embraced in both men's and women's fashion.

The process of selecting the Color of the Year is a meticulous one for PANTONE. A year-long process, it involves a comprehensive analysis that spans fashion trends, interior design movements, notable moments in pop culture, and human psychology. Peach Fuzz has emerged as a color of modernity and nostalgia, increasingly finding its way into diverse facets of life and style.

Eiseman elaborates on the choice of Peach Fuzz, describing it as a compassionate color that “radiates with warmth and modern elegance.” Visually arresting and inviting, Peach Fuzz is more than just a color—it’s a tactile experience, conveyed through sueded, velvety, quilted, and furry textures that are luxuriously soothing to the touch.

Beginning with Cerulean Blue in 1999, the Color of the Year ritual has become a global cultural benchmark, reflecting and expressing the prevailing global mood and attitudes through color. Come 2024, it celebrates a quarter-century of influencing design and color trends.

“As we celebrate the 25th year of our PANTONE Color of the Year program and the fundamental role color plays in our shared human experience, it is our hope that we have inspired you to look at color in a different way—that color and its connection to emotion and the expression of human feelings will take on a new significance, causing your eye to linger a little longer throughout the day on the tints and tones that surround you, as history unfolds from moment to moment,” expresses Laurie Pressman, vice president of the PANTONE Color Institute.

“We look forward to continuing this for many more years to come,” Pressman adds.

As we step into 2024, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz stands as a symbol of warmth, tactility, and a shared human experience, inviting us to embrace a world filled with compassion, nurturing, and the gentle joy of togetherness.
