NSFW AI App That Wears Clothes Back On Women Gets Under People’s Skin NSFW

A controversial artificial intelligence tool is getting a dressing down for modifying images of women and effectively “clothing” them in a manner deemed more conservative. Among the targets are high-profile figures, including the likes of Taylor Swift, sparking a heated debate over the implications of such digital alterations.
Originating from the /pol/ board on the notorious platform 4chan, DignifAI, as it is called, has quickly become a hot topic on social media, drawing both curiosity and criticism. With the stated goal of “bringing dignity back to the internet,” the app enables users to digitally cover up provocative imagery—often of women—often without their knowledge or consent.
Some of these results have been posted on the DignifAI X/Twitter account, and while they predominantly feature women, it notably includes an edit of Elon Musk originally in swim shorts. The initiative gained further traction when conservative influencer Jack Posobiec shared some of the altered photos.

Critics of DignifAI argue that the campaign veils a more insidious intent to police women’s bodies and choices under the guise of promoting decency.

The ethical quandaries posed by DignifAI extend beyond the immediate reactions to its edited images. A significant point of contention is the lack of consent from the women whose photos are tweaked to fit a more traditional ideal.
On its website, DignifAI is also teaching developers to create their own AI image generators based on its technology.
