Nothing Debuts ‘Special Edition’ Phone 2a Drawn From Super Nintendo & Bauhaus

Nothing has unveiled a special-edition version of its Phone 2a smartphone, this time cloaked in a color scheme that will trigger a wave of nostalgia among retro gamers. Its design evokes the iconic Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) controller, instantly recognizable for its vibrant combination of red, yellow, and blue.
The console’s signature red replaces the standard black frame, with the signature yellow and blue accents well-placed to mirror the SNES controller’s button layout.
The model represents “this idea of distilling things down to their most basic, yet beautiful form,” expresses the brand. “If we apply this notion to color we are left with red, yellow, and blue.”

The special edition, which is also imbued with Bauhaus principles, “celebrates primary colors and their place within Nothing’s brand identity,” Nothing adds.

Under the hood lies a powerful Dimensity 7200 Pro chip, paired with 20GB of RAM, ensuring smooth performance for even the most demanding apps and games. Battery life shouldn’t be a concern either, thanks to the phone's generous 5,000mAh capacity—even exceeding that of Nothing’s flagship Phone 2.
The display is a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, offering a buttery-smooth viewing experience for multimedia content. Photography is handled by a capable 50MP rear camera with optical image stabilization, allowing you to capture crisp photos and videos in 4K resolution. The front-facing camera is no slouch, either, clocking in at 1080p with 60fps recording.

While the hardware remains identical to the standard Phone (2a), the special edition comes in a single configuration with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Preorders for the Nothing Phone (2a) SNES Edition have begun, with initial availability through Nothing’s official website and its flagship store in London.
