Just in time for New York Fashion Week, PANTONE has unveiled a vast spectrum of palette-pleasers to its Fashion, Home + Interiors (FHI) line. This time, though, the color authority has switched things up a little. For the first time in history, PANTONE has curated the new hues into two distinct palettes, collectively referred to as PANTONE FHI Dualities.

175 fresh shades are now splashed across two palettes—‘New Age Pastels’ and ‘Shadows’—with the aim of helping creatives convey the complex, contrasting moods of today’s world.

Tannese Williams, head of PANTONE Fashion, Home + Interiors, explains the inspiration behind this chromatic contrast: “We’re navigating a time of striking dualities, where the push for futuristic digital advancements meets a renewed quest for meaning and simplicity.”

New Age Pastels is a dreamy collection of 98 light-infused tones. These colors—like soft yellows, minty greens, and hazy oranges—evoke a sense of calm and otherworldliness.

On the flip side, the Shadows palette of 77 shades celebrates the subtle gradients between light and dark. These versatile grays, both warm and cool, offer a grounded foundation for bold design choices.

To showcase the real-world magic of these new hues, PANTONE has partnered with luxury cashmere brand Janavi and renowned designer Bibhu Mohapatra. Together, they’ve created a collection of exclusive shawls that bring the Dualities palette to life.

The wearable color stories made their debut at Mohapatra’s New York Fashion Week runway show on September 10. For those eager to add a splash of Dualities to their wardrobe, the shawls will be available at an exclusive event in Mohapatra’s Tribeca flagship store on September 12, before hitting high-end retailers worldwide.
