Apple is diving into new waters with its first-ever scripted film designed for the Apple Vision Pro headset, and it’s bringing the action right to your face. Directed by Edward Berger, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind All Quiet on the Western Front, Submerged is a heart-pounding World War II thriller, set aboard a submarine, that thrusts viewers into the thick of a torpedo attack.

The trailer teases the use of Apple’s Immersive Video technology, which is built to make audiences feel like they’re part of the crew. Thanks to 3D visuals and spatial audio, viewers won’t just be watching the action—they’ll be plunged right into it.

Using 8K resolution 3D video with a 180-degree field of view, Submerged makes full use of the Apple Vision Pro’s ultra-high-resolution micro-OLED displays. With over 23 million pixels, these displays ensure stunning color and sharpness, while the Spatial Audio system delivers directional sound to match.

The Apple Vision Pro itself allows users to transform any space into a personal cinema, interact with lifelike virtual elements, and even travel to new worlds with its Environments feature.

For those eager to experience this next tide of storytelling, Submerged will debut exclusively on the Apple Vision Pro on October 10, 2024. Watch the trailer below.
