Coca-Cola is bottling the essence of Mexican taquerias and taking it to Norway with delightful street photography that celebrates the deep connection between tacos and the soda.
In Mexico, it’s hard to find a taco stand without some sign of Coca-Cola—whether it’s crates, fridges, umbrellas, or those familiar glass bottles. Through a series of evocative black-and-white photos, the brand is showcasing this relationship and highlighting: “Where there are tacos, there’s Coca-Cola.”

Shot by photographer Frederik Trovatten, who spent four years living in Mexico City, the campaign captures the soul of Mexican street food culture. Trovatten’s specialty in street photography lends authenticity to the series, with each photo featuring scenes from bustling taco stands.

While the imagery focuses on everyday life, Coca-Cola’s branding appears subtly in the background—often in the form of a crate or napkin holder, highlighted with a pop of red against the monochrome.

The project was developed by Uncommon Stockholm in collaboration with production house Colony. Rather than using loud advertising, the photos offer a more tasteful, understated approach that invites viewers to connect with the narrative behind the imagery. The campaign reflects how deeply Coca-Cola is woven into the experience of eating tacos—not just in Mexico, but wherever taco culture thrives.

Norway is the first stop for this campaign, which has taken over Oslo’s central station. The series is also running across other outdoor spaces, presenting itself as a window into the vibrant world of taquerias and their quiet ties with the drink.
