LEGO Brings A Splash Of Rome’s Famous Trevi Fountain To Desks In 1,880 Pieces

LEGO invites culture-obsessed builders to toss their bricks into history with the latest addition to its Architecture series, a highly detailed model of Rome’s Trevi Fountain. Scheduled for release on March 1, 2025, this 1,880-piece set captures the elegance of the Baroque landmark, complete with intricate sculptures and the grand façade of the Palazzo Poli.

Constructed in the 18th century, the Trevi Fountain has become a symbol of romance, tradition, and cinematic history and stands as one of the city’s most famous landmarks. Visitors partake in the tradition of tossing a coin into its waters to ensure their return to Rome.

The structure has notably graced the silver screen in classic films, including La Dolce Vita (1960), where Anita Ekberg wades into the fountain’s waters in an iconic scene, and Roman Holiday (1953), starring Audrey Hepburn and Gregory Peck. Younger audiences may be familiar with its prominent role in The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003).

The set itself builds upon LEGO’s former Trevi Fountain model released in 2014, which featured just 731 pieces. This updated version will likely amplify the sense of accomplishment once you’re done clicking your masterpiece into place, as it incorporates more refined details and advanced techniques to better replicate the fountain’s flowing water and architectural splendor.

Among those precious features are the statues of Oceanus in his shell chariot, flanked by Tritons and hippocampi, as well as representations of Abundance and Health. To add to the authenticity, the set includes streetlamps, bollards, and a small Lovers’ Fountain.

The release of this set is juxtaposed against growing concerns over tourism management at the actual Trevi Fountain. In October 2024, Roman officials announced plans to implement an access fee for visitors in an effort to control overcrowding and preserve the monument.
