Google Digs Up 2025’s Most Wickedly Popular Halloween Costume & Décor Trends

Get your ghost sheet ready! 2025’s Halloween costume, makeup, and interior design trends are creeping in with some unexpected stars. Google’s Frightgeist has released its annual list and this year one name haunts the top: KPop Demon Hunters. Meanwhile, Pop Mart’s cult favorite, Labubu, is getting a cosplay moment of its own. Plus, more than a few chicken jockeys will be running around.

Google’s Frightgeist site has returned for another round of spooking, where it charts the top 25 rising costumes based on spikes in search interest. The rankings also include regional maps, so you can see what your neighbors might dress as this October. To stalk the most popular ideas, the tech giant has tracked queries that suddenly surge compared to past years, with costumes being ranked accordingly.

Overall Costumes

Topping the list is KPop Demon Hunters, with five characters—Rumi, Zoey, Mira, Jinu, and Baby Saja—all trending strongly. Other newcomers include Chicken Jockey (from Minecraft), Labubu, and Derpy the Tiger, also from KPop Demon Hunters. Following those are well-known names like Elphaba from Wicked, The Lorax, and Hamilton. Then come genre staples: Nightwing, Nurse from Silent Hill, Toothless, Glinda, Ladybug, Gabby from Gabby’s Dollhouse, Supergirl, Superman, Donnie Darko, Founding Father, Pyramid Head, Wednesday, Cleo de Nile, and Lord Farquaad.
