Canva has unveiled what it calls a Creative Operating System, a sweeping reimagination of its visual platform that fuses design, artificial intelligence, and marketing into a single workflow.
The new system builds on over a decade of experimentation. Comprising a revamped, “supercharged Visual Suite,” design AI, and marketing tools envisioned to take a brand from concept to campaign, it marks the company’s most ambitious transformation yet.

Supporting it all is the Canva Design Model, an AI engine described as the first to truly “understand” intentional design by grasping layout logic, visual balance, and contextual cues. While the aim is to make creative work faster and more connected, the company intends to allow space for human imagination to bloom.

This AI now appears across every part of the workflow. You can generate new visuals, textures, or videos from text, and the AI automatically ensures color and layout consistency. The assistant, known as @Canva, also acts as a conversational partner: ask for feedback, a layout adjustment, or a copy tweak, and it applies your brand fonts, tones, and palettes without breaking your flow.

Video 2.0

Users can expect other major updates across the platform. Video 2.0, for one, has been rebuilt from the ground up to make editing more intuitive. Creators can trim, sync, and layer clips with a redesigned timeline while AI helps automate transitions, text timing, and effects.

Canva’s ‘Magic Video’ feature generates edited sequences from a single prompt, while an updated library of templates reflects social trends and formats.
Email Design

For marketers and creators, Email Design brings email creation into Canva’s drag-and-drop universe. Teams can design newsletters and campaigns without coding, then export them as HTML for any email platform.

Forms

Similarly, the new Forms feature allows users to embed interactive elements—like RSVP or contact forms—directly into their designs. Submissions automatically populate in Canva Sheets, keeping data and design aligned in one workflow.
Canva Code meets Sheets

Rounding out the suite is Canva Code in Sheets, which connects live datasets to widgets such as dashboards and calculators. When the underlying data changes, the visuals update instantly—ideal for anyone building reports, learning tools, or live infographics.
Brand management

Beyond design, Canva is positioning itself as an end-to-end marketing platform. The new Canva Grow tool integrates ideation, creation, publishing, and analytics into one continuous process. Users can design a campaign, publish it directly to Meta or other networks, then measure engagement without ever leaving the platform.

Canva’s Brand System adds another layer of consistency. Logos, fonts, and color palettes are automatically applied across assets, so teams can maintain a cohesive identity even as they scale. These tools sit alongside Canva Business, a new tier designed for smaller teams that need advanced analytics, expanded storage, and AI assistance but aren’t yet at the enterprise level. Enterprise tiers for small teams seeking advanced analytics and scalable AI support.

All-new Affinity

One of the biggest announcements, however, is Affinity, the professional design suite acquired earlier this year, now fully integrated into Canva and offered free for life.
CEO Melanie Perkins calls this moment the shift from the “Information Era” to the “Imagination Era,” where creativity becomes the new currency. With more than 260 million monthly users and a valuation north of $42 billion, Canva’s latest evolution seems designed to ensure that it follows wherever design happens, from social media to enterprise marketing.
