Pinterest’s 2026 outlook arrives with energy that feels both nostalgic and newly hopeful. Tapping into billions of user searches to reveal what people are really reaching for, its annual predictions uncover a cultural appetite that gravitates toward cozy textures, handwritten rituals, romantic aesthetics and a return to the slow, grounding experiences that get lost in digital noise.

Across the board, the platform sees a move away from polished restraint and toward expressive aesthetics rooted in emotion and memory. Cool Blue, a frost-toned palette, is expected to filter into everything from coats to cocktails. Glamoretti hints at the return of retro extravagance in sculpted suits and bold metals. Poetcore leans into a literary mood shaped by vintage blazers, handwritten notes and accessories that could pass for props in a coming-of-age film. Beauty takes on its own experiments, with layered perfumes creating personal scent signatures and glitch-inspired makeup bringing digital irregularities into the real world.

Home and lifestyle choices follow a similar instinct for comfort and sensory grounding. Pinterest points to a rise in celestial décor, earthy motifs and even cabbage-themed ceramics as people look for objects that feel rooted and reassuring. Styles like Afrohemian Decor and Neo Deco bring deeper cultural references into interiors, suggesting that rooms are increasingly treated as identity projects rather than neutral backdrops. FunHaus, a circus-tinged aesthetic, captures the opposite impulse, with bold stripes and sculptural shapes nudging domestic spaces toward playfulness.

Fashion and beauty trends continue this pivot toward self-shaping. Vamp Romantic channels a gothic sensibility softened by gloss and texture, while Khaki Coded blends adventure wear with everyday tailoring. Accessories take unexpected turns as brooches become statement pieces for men and lace trims migrate from heirloom fabrics to streetwear.

Pinterest also notes how leisure habits are changing. Darecations, its label for thrill-oriented trips, sit alongside the mystical, folklore-infused landscapes of the Outlands travel trend, which has seen rising interest in places like the Scottish Highlands, the Faroe Islands and Bolivia’s Salar de Uyuni. Food shifts reflect similar experimentation. The platform anticipates a surge of interest in cabbage as home cooks explore blistered leaves, fermented dishes and cross-cultural recipes.

To look out for early signals forming across style, interiors, food, beauty and travel, Pinterest’s analysts combined observation, language patterns, and machine learning to pick up themes that have not yet tipped into mass adoption, a method the company says has helped it reach a remarkable 88% prediction accuracy rate in previous years. Dip your toe into these concepts below, and view the entire report here.

1. Gimme Gummy

Tactility steps into the spotlight as Gen Z and Millennials turn squishy, stretchy and jelly-like textures into a multisensory playground. Pinterest expects rubberized beauty products, chewy-inspired accessories and ASMR-ready designs to shape a trend that’s all about play and touch.

Circus-inspired interiors gain momentum as Boomers and Millennials search for sculptural silhouettes, striped ceilings and décor that balances whimsy with restraint. The mood is theatrical but controlled, using bold patterning to lighten spaces without tipping into full carnival.

14. Scent Stacking

Fragrance becomes a layering exercise. Younger users build personalized blends through oils, perfumes and complementary notes, treating scent as a form of self-editing rather than a fixed signature.

20. Mystic Outlands

21. Darecations

Image via Pinterest

Keywords: auto racing events (+85%), river rafting (+35%), adrenaline rush aesthetic (+50%), adventure tourism (+75%), football tournament (+50%).

Underlying everything is a core emotional pattern. Pinterest’s research indicates that comfort has become a daily priority for more than half of global respondents, with nostalgia offering a sense of stability at a time when long-term planning feels out of reach. That nostalgia is evolving into what the company calls reclamation, a blending of past references with present needs. Consumers are curating rather than copying, leaning toward ideas that feel personal instead of universally adopted. What emerges is not a single look or aesthetic but a toolkit of moods for people who want their environments, wardrobes and routines to reflect who they are becoming.

If the forecast holds, 2026 will be less about chasing the next big thing and more about slowing down and choosing the thing that feels right, whether that involves icy palettes, theatrical décor, gummy textures, embroidered collars or a handwritten letter for someone who usually gets a quick DM.
