Home décor is getting permission to loosen its screws a little. IKEA’s new GREJSIMOJS collection arrives with the idea that everyday furniture can do its job and still have a sense of humor. The range leans into color, texture, and character-driven forms, turning familiar household pieces into objects that are ready to join the fun rather than sit in a corner.
The GREJSIMOJS line draws from findings in the IKEA Play Report, which links play to lower stress, stronger creativity, and better family connection. Instead of treating play as something that belongs only in kids’ rooms, the collection spreads that mindset across shared spaces. Through this space, IKEA pictures design that supports movement, imagination, and emotional expression, describing it as a celebration of “the joy and importance of play for everyone of all ages.”

The collection spans more than 30 items across furniture, lighting, toys, textiles, and storage. Many pieces remix standard categories with a character-like twist. Storage containers appear with animal faces, covered pouffes open to reveal grinning “teeth,” and hangers take on cactus-inspired silhouettes. The approach keeps the function intact while adding visual cues that invite interaction. As the brand puts it, “playfulness is a mindset,” not a rulebook or a room label.

Several products rework existing IKEA staples. The well-known MAMMUT children’s chair, for example, gets a furry slipcover in bold colors including Rebel Pink, the company’s 2026 Color of the Year.

Elsewhere, animal-shaped LED floor lamps double as soft ambient lighting and friendly room companions. A giraffe-shaped lamp is designed to act as both decoration and gentle night light, walking the line between toy and fixture.

Prices are set in IKEA’s typical accessible range, with smaller items such as cat-shaped lidded storage boxes listed at $7.99 and toy building block sets at $19.99. Larger statement pieces include a yellow storage pouffe with a hinged top at $69.99, a folding room divider in yellow and gray at $79.99, and a cactus-shaped children’s clothes stand at $64.99. Softer elements round out the lineup, including an oversized beige bear plush measuring 100 centimeters tall and a rocking bird seat intended for imaginative play.

While the shapes and faces skew youthful, the design brief does not stop at kids. Cushions are sized to work as both seating and play props, dividers can become instant hideouts, and textured finishes encourage hands-on use. Designers behind the range have said their process included revisiting childhood memories alongside behavioral research suggesting adults also benefit from more tactile, creative environments at home.
