IKEA Folds Nature Into Your Room With Handcrafted Paper Flowers That Never Wilt

A new array sprouting at IKEA leans into the idea that blooms don’t have to be real to feel lived-in. The GULDSPETT series introduces a range of delicate, handcrafted “flowers” made entirely from paper, designed as an affordable and flexible option for home décor.

The collection includes familiar flower types such as roses, poppies, cosmos, and ranunculus, each rendered with soft color gradients and folded textures that echo real petals.

These, however, require no watering, sunlight, or upkeep beyond occasional dusting, making them suited to spaces where real plants might struggle.

And since they last forever, the blooms can be arranged, rearranged, and revisited over time to freshen things up in your home. A single stem can stand on its own as a minimal accent, while a bunch can be built up gradually into a larger display.

“When you look at the details on flowers and leaves in nature, it’s totally amazing. The colors, the vibrancy, the shapes,” explains Sofia Snygg, IKEA developer for living and artificial plants and flowers. “We had great fun finding ways to replicate those intricacies as closely as possible… My hope is that GULDSPETT brings a lot of that joy into people’s homes.”

The florals measure roughly 13.8 inches and are reinforced with a thin steel wire core, allowing them to be bent and reshaped as needed. The stems are priced individually, starting from US$1.99, so it will be easy to build a bouquet piece by piece rather than committing to a single arrangement.
