Apple’s Saccharine Christmas Ad Holds A Message The World Really Needs Right Now

By Yoon Sann Wong, 22 Nov 2016

Apple has debuted a heartwarming albeit slightly cliché Christmas ad for the festive season titled ‘Frankie’s Holiday’.

It features Frankenstein’s monster ‘Frankie’ who comes down from his isolated mountain cabin to the nearby village to deliver a special gift.

While ‘Frankenstein’ is an odd pairing to make with the Christmas season, the move ties in with the ad’s whole idea of accepting things and people who are different.

The spot, directed by Park Pictures’ Lance Acord, ends with the line “Open your heart to everyone”, a timely message what with all that’s happened in 2016 and how the world can definitely use with more love and less hate.

Watch the clip below and see John Lewis’s Christmas spot that’s touching, cute and funny all in one.
