Krispy Kreme Celebrates The Solar Eclipse With A Special Chocolate-Glazed Donut
Krispy Kreme is
celebrating the solar eclipse in a delicious way.
The donut chain
announced that it would be offering a new chocolate-glazed treat on 21 Aug 2017, the same day that the US is slated to experience a solar eclipse. The base will be Krispy Kreme's original glazed donut, then covered in rich chocolate glaze, according to the press release.
The new mouth-watering donut,
however, will disappear just as quickly as the celestial event. According to Krispy Kreme, “Customers will only be able to taste these rare, chocolate-glazed Krispy Kreme donuts on the day of eclipse, and on Saturday, August 19 and Sunday, August 20, during select stores’ evening Hot Light hours.”
“The solar eclipse
is a rare occasion providing a total sensory experience for viewers across the continental U.S. Chocolate will have the same effect as we introduce a first-time chocolate glazing of our iconic Original Glazed Donut,” Jackie Woodward, chief marketing officer of Krispy Kreme, said in a statement. “The Chocolate Glazed Donut is a delicious way to experience the solar eclipse—no matter where you are—and we can’t wait for fans to try it.”
