Italian architect Renato Vidal and custom home builder Area Legno have collaborated to create a line of modular living units that would expand into full-fledged houses in just six to seven hours.

The ‘M.A.Di Home comes pre-installed with the usual chambers like a living room, bedroom, bathroom, and kitchen, and is designed to be moved around. There’s no need to anchor them down with concrete foundation or soil.

Additional modules can also be attached to customize and expand the houses, which are already equipped with air-conditioning, electricity, and water.

Most impressively, the houses are created to withhold natural disasters. The ‘M.A.Di Homes’ are earthquake-proof, and their portability and minimal set-up design make them ideal as structures in temporary villages for events.
