NVIDIA’s New AI Renders ‘Fake’ Videos That Look Eerily Legitimate

AI researchers at NVIDIA have developed a technology that can self-reliantly teach computers to make significant, hyper-realistic changes to video content.

The AI eerily changes the contexts of the footage it’s fed. For example, it can turn day into night, alter the weather, and even change the breeds of dogs and cats.

If you thought a leopard never changes its spots, this tool will prove you wrong. It literally replaces the markings of leopards to accurate effect.

The results are a little disturbing; they offer a glimpse of what could be possible in the future. Video proof might no longer be an appropriate source of evidence—surveillance footage, for instance, can be edited substantially and you won’t even know it.
